Early Life and Career

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5, 1985, in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. He began playing football at a young age, and quickly showed a natural talent for the game. At the age of 16, Ronaldo signed with Sporting Lisbon, one of the biggest clubs in Portugal. He made his debut for the club in 2002, and quickly became a regular starter.
