About the Book
Five Chimneys is a harrowing true story of survival in Auschwitz. Olga Lengyel, a Hungarian Jew, was deported to Auschwitz in 1944. She was forced to work as a slave laborer in the camp's factories. She witnessed the horrors of Auschwitz firsthand, including the gas chambers and the crematoria. But she never gave up hope.
In Five Chimneys, Lengyel tells the story of her survival in Auschwitz. She describes the horrors she witnessed, but she also tells the stories of the people she met in the camp. She tells the stories of the women who helped her to survive, and the men who risked their lives to protect her. Five Chimneys is a story of hope and resilience. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
